After spending the last two years in Formula Challenge, we are delighted to confirm we will move to GPVWC’s third tier in 2022.
Previously known as Supercup, the third division is know called Formula Sprint 1, after league’s management decided to rebrand some of the series.
We joined GPVWC in March 2020 after a previously accepted entry withdrew from the series. Our first season in the league was a learning process: our first podium at Monza was the only relevant highlight in what was a disappointing debut campaign, having scored just 90 points and finishing in third last.
2021 saw a massive improvement from the team. 3 wins, 7 podiums, 2 pole positions and 1 fastest lap – quite a good tally, in a season where our biggest issue was lineup consistency. After fighting for top 3 in the teams standings in the first half of the season, we lost a bit of momentum, but a final 6th place in the standings was enough to secure promotion for 2022.
During the GPVWC Day 2022 at Milton Keynes yesterday, management also announced calendar for next season. Quite a few changes compared to 2021, with the main talking point being the return of Monaco after 3 years.
We can’t wait to prove ourselves in a new division. Some familiar faces will be on the grid, with 4 teams (us included) promoted to FS1 (FC champions TCS Off, AlphaDelta and Smile Power are the other promoted teams) and some other teams we faced in our debut season in 2020 (HGP, Nova, Santen and Fryslan).
A further announcement about our lineup and our new livery will come in the coming weeks.
